Ethan Lacey

Collaborative Pianist

Originally from Collingwood Ontario, Ethan Lacey has been involved in collaborative music since his high school days. After his foray into accompanying choirs in the Georgian Bay area, he studied piano and collaborative musicianship at Mohawk College, and later a bachelor’s and master’s at Western University. While at Western, Ethan served as music director and head coach of the Little London Community Opera company; an experience that served to bolster his enthusiasm for the communal aspects of music making and vocal accompaniment with piano.

In 2019 Ethan relocated to Hamilton where he is active as a vocal coach and collaborative pianist working with classical vocalists, playing in jazz quintets/trios, music theatre groups, and for music festivals. Throughout the pandemic he has learned to sketch, studied the Russian language, and attempted to recreate TikTok recipes...but mostly, he’s just been reading a lot.
